How I Work

Seven steps from the first conversation to handover. Work is built in small, reviewable pieces, so you see progress throughout rather than waiting until the end.

The seven steps

  1. Discovery

    We discuss your business, your users, your goals and your requirements.

  2. Planning

    I break the project into features, technical requirements and development milestones.

  3. Design and Specification

    We agree the interface, the user flows and the technical approach. If you already have Figma designs, I work directly from them.

  4. Development

    The application is built in small, reviewable pieces, so you see progress throughout the project rather than waiting until the end.

  5. Testing and Review

    Features are tested and refined before production, and important business logic gets appropriate automated tests.

  6. Deployment

    The application is prepared for and deployed to its production environment.

  7. Handover

    You receive the source code and the information you need to keep maintaining and developing the application.

  8. Ready when you are

    Tell me what you are building and get a reply within one business day.

A Clear, Milestone-Based Approach

For larger projects, development can be divided into clear milestones.

  • Project Setup

    Requirements, architecture and initial setup.

  • Milestone 1

    The first group of agreed features.

  • Milestone 2

    The next group of agreed features.

  • Final Milestone

    Testing, final refinements and production deployment.

The exact milestones and payment schedule are agreed before development begins.
